53-1-411. Collections by department of administration. If a resident or financially responsible person liable for payment of per diem and ancillary charges due under this part refuses or fails to make the payment, it is collectible by the department of administration in the manner set forth in Title 17, chapter 4, for the collection of debts owing to the state or by a civil suit brought by the department of administration in the name of the state.
