69-14-111. General supervision of railroads. The commission shall have the general supervision of all railroads, express companies, car companies, sleeping-car companies, and freight and freight-line companies and any common carrier engaged in the transportation of passengers or property in this state, in all matters appertaining to the duty of said commission and within its power and authority under the provisions of this chapter.
