7-12-2122. Term of office of multicounty district trustee. (1) The trustees appointed upon the creation of such district shall serve staggered terms of 1, 2, and 3 years. Thereafter, each trustee serves a term of 3 years.
     (2) A trustee holds office for the term of his appointment or until his successor is appointed and qualified.
