7-2-2706. Processing of petition to amend proposed consolidation -- certification to county commissioners. Whenever any petition is filed under 7-2-2705, the election administrator shall immediately examine the same and determine from the registration records of the county whether the petition has been signed by the required number of registered electors and shall attach thereto his certificate showing the total number of registered electors residing within the boundaries described in the petition and the number thereof whose names appear on said petition and shall deliver the petition, with the certificate attached, to the board of county commissioners when the board meets to consider and take final action on the petition for abandonment.
