19-3-520. Participation by public administrators. (1) A public administrator appointed or elected under 7-3-441 or 7-4-2203 who is paid on a fee basis and who elects membership in the retirement system must be granted service credit on an annual basis. The member shall receive 1 full year of service credit for each full year in which the member serves in office.
     (2) "Final average salary" means the member's highest average annual compensation during any 3 calendar years in office for which service credit has been granted.
