42-4-309. Postplacement evaluation period -- waiver. If the child is a stepchild or a member of the extended family of the petitioner, the court may, if satisfied that the adoption is in the best interests of the child, waive the 6-month postplacement evaluation period and the postplacement evaluation and grant a decree of adoption.
