7-6-4601. Deposit of public money. It shall be the duty of the city treasurer or town clerk, whichever is appropriate, to deposit all public money in his possession and under his control, except such as may be required for current business, in any solvent bank or banks located in such city or town and subject to national supervision or state examination, as the council shall designate, and no other.
