76-16-211. Dissolution of district. (1) If a state district ceases to function and it appears to the department that the reinstatement and future operation of the district is no longer feasible, beneficial, and desirable to those who own or control more than 50% of the lands included in the district, the department, after a hearing and upon 30 days' notice in writing, published for 2 consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in or nearest to the district, may dissolve the district.
(2) A notice of the dissolution must be filed by the department with the secretary of state and the clerk and recorder of the county or counties in which the district is located.
