53-6-132. Application for assistance -- exception. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), application for assistance under this part must be made to the office of the county department in the county in which the person is residing. The application must be presented in the manner and on the form prescribed by the department of public health and human services. All individuals wishing to apply must have the opportunity to do so.
     (2) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1), the department may designate an entity other than the county department to determine eligibility for medicaid managed care services.
