7-6-2421. Presentation of claims against county. (1) No account may be allowed by the board unless the same is made out in separate items, with the nature of each item stated. If the claim is for official services for which no specified fees are fixed by law, the time actually and necessarily devoted to such services must be stated. No account must be necessarily passed upon by the board unless made out as prescribed in this section and filed by the clerk prior to the session at which it is asked to be heard.
(2) Every claim against the county, except claims arising from injury to a person or property, which are limited under provisions of Title 2, chapter 9, parts 1 through 3, as amended, must be presented within 1 year after the last item accrued.
(3) No county officer may, except for his own service, present any claim, account, or demand for allowance against the county or in any way advocate the relief asked on the claim or demand made by another.
(4) Money deposited in the county treasury pursuant to former section 16-2616, R.C.M. 1947, and not otherwise disposed of shall be transferred by the county treasurer to the state treasurer for deposit in the agency fund provided for in Title 72, chapter 14, part 2. The county treasurer may deduct the fees and expenses of the coroner and the county prior to transferring the money.
