7-6-4141. Additional records and reports. (1) The chief executive or governing body of a municipality may require other elected or appointed officials to:
(a) maintain financial records;
(b) perform financial reconciliations; and
(c) submit financial reports.
(2) The treasurer shall:
(a) serve as the custodian of all public money;
(b) install and have supervision over the financial accounts of all departments and offices of the municipality; and
(c) require daily departmental reports of money receipts and their disposition on forms that the treasurer prescribes.
(3) This section does not apply to a municipality that has adopted the alternative accounting method provided for in Title 7, chapter 6, part 6.
