     85-7-1823. Notice of hearing. On such petition being filed, the district court or judge thereof shall make an order fixing the time and place for a hearing and directing that notice be given. Thereupon the clerk of the court shall cause to be published at least once a week for 2 successive calendar weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county where the petition is filed, with preference given to a newspaper published in the county, a notice stating the time and place fixed by the district court when and where the hearing on the petition will be had and containing a brief statement of the matters set forth in the petition and the object thereof. If any portion of the lands sought to be excluded from the district lies within any other county or counties, the notice shall also be published as provided above in a newspaper of general circulation in the other county or counties, with preference given to a newspaper published in the other county or counties. The first publication of the notice may not be less than 30 days prior to the time mentioned in the notice for the hearing.
