26-2-509. Certificate of clerk to witness to obtain payment. The clerk of any court before which any witness shall have attended on behalf of the state or county in any civil action must give to such witness a certificate under seal of travel and attendance, which shall entitle him to receive the amount therein stated from the state or county treasurer.
