33-17-1004. Acting as insurance producer or adjuster without license -- penalty. Except as provided in 33-17-411, a person who, in this state, acts as an insurance producer or adjuster without having authority to do so by virtue of a license issued and in force pursuant to this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined $500 or imprisoned in the county jail for 90 days, or both.
