37-12-324. Penalty for violation. Any person who shall practice or attempt to practice chiropractic or any person who shall buy, sell, or fraudulently obtain any diploma or license to practice chiropractic, whether recorded or not, or who shall use the title "chiropractor", "D.C.", "Ph.C.", or any word title to influence belief that he is engaged in the practice of chiropractic without first complying with the provisions of this chapter or any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100 or more than $700 or by imprisonment in a county jail for not less than 30 days or more than 7 months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Prosecutions for the violation of this chapter shall be instituted in the district courts.
