5-2-102. Term of office. The term of office of a senator is 4 years or until his successor is elected and qualified and of a representative 2 years or until his successor is elected and qualified. The term of service shall begin on the first Monday of January next succeeding his election. If a senator is elected to fill a vacancy, his term of service shall begin on the next day after his election.
