87-1-264. (Temporary) Expenditure of program funds on weed control. The legislature recognizes that the hunter management and hunting access enhancement programs in 87-1-265 through 87-1-267 have successfully encouraged landowners to increase public access to private lands for purposes of hunting, but that increased public access may also contribute to an increase in the spread of noxious weeds on public and private lands. Therefore, in an effort to improve management and services related to those programs, the department may offer up to 5% in additional incentive payments to landowners who agree to use those payments for specific weed management activities on lands under their control. (Terminates March 1, 2006--sec. 29, Ch. 407, L. 2001.)
