20-25-423. State tax levy -- support of public education institutions. Subject to 15-10-420, the legislature shall levy a property tax of not more than 6 mills on the taxable value of all real and personal property each year for 10 years beginning with the year 1999. All revenue from this property tax levy must be appropriated for the support, maintenance, and improvement of the Montana university system.
