46-18-702. Disposition of prisoner's earnings. The earnings of the prisoner shall be collected by the sheriff. From such earnings the sheriff shall pay the prisoner's board and personal expenses both inside and outside the jail and, to the extent directed by the court, pay the support of his dependents, if any. Any balance shall be retained until his discharge.
