61-3-314. Registration period. (1) Except as provided in 61-3-315, each vehicle subject to the provisions of 61-3-313 through 61-3-316 must be registered for a 12-month period based upon the date it is first registered in this state pursuant to 61-3-313 through 61-3-316.
     (2) There are 12 registration periods, each of which commences on the first day of a calendar month. The periods are:

	(a) January 1 through January 31	1st period
	(b) February 1 through February 28/29	2nd period
	(c) March 1 through March 31	3rd period
	(d) April 1 through April 30	4th period
	(e) May 1 through May 31	5th period
	(f) June 1 through June 30	6th period
	(g) July 1 through July 31	7th period
	(h) August 1 through August 31	8th period
	(i) September 1 through September 30	9th period
	(j) October 1 through October 31	10th period
	(k) November 1 through November 30	11th period
	(l) December 1 through December 31	12th period
