7-3-4412. Retention of existing positions. Any person in the employ of a municipality holding a position in the classified service at the time that the municipality comes under the provisions of this part and part 43 shall, unless his position be abolished, retain the same until discharged, reduced, promoted, or transferred in accordance herewith.
