     70-28-108. Prerequisites to decree against defendant not present. Before plaintiff shall be entitled to a decree in such action against any defendant who shall not appear therein, he must produce evidence sufficient to prima facie entitle him to relief, and relief shall be granted only to the extent to which such evidence shall prima facie prove him to be entitled to the same; but this provision shall not affect the procedure in or manner of trial of such actions as between the plaintiff and any defendant who shall appear in such action.
