85-2-279. (Temporary) Debt collection. If the owner of a water right does not pay the fee after receiving an initial bill statement and one reminder bill statement:
     (1) the department shall turn over the debt to the department of revenue for collection pursuant to Title 17, chapter 4; and
     (2) if efforts to collect the debt are not successful, the department of revenue may file a lien against the water right in the county where the water is put to beneficial use after notifying each entity enumerated on the water right. (Terminates June 30, 2020--sec. 18, Ch. 288, L. 2005.)
