CFHHS Committee Topics
The Children and Families Committee carries out interim studies requested by the Legislature and also monitors the activities of the Department of Public Health and Human Services, including implementation of the Montana Medical Marijuana Act. Members also decided in June to set aside about 20 percent of their meeting time to review the expansion of the Medicaid program under a 2015 law that is set to expire on June 30, 2019.
The committee adopted a work plan in September 2017 that outlines how it will approach each of its assigned studies and its oversight activities.
