The State-Tribal Relations Committee (STRC) acts as a liaison with tribal governments in Montana, encourages state-tribal and local government-tribal cooperation, and conducts interim studies as assigned. The committee may also propose legislation and report its activities, findings, or recommendations to the Legislature. STRC is the only bipartisan committee of the Legislature, and has a total of 10 appointed legislative members.
